One of the most memorable spots we visited is the Coba Mayan Ruins, located in the middle of Jungle…
Getting here from Tulum was easy and took about 30 mins by Taxi. We had our hotel book a taxi driver for the whole day and he took us to several Cenotes afterwards for a refreshing dip! The cost for the taxi for 6-7 hours was about 1700 pesos (Roughly 120 Dollars) It’s a nice way to leisurely get around Tulum without having to worry about finding a taxi back.
There are about 900 steps to reach the top, and on such a hot day, we decided not to attempt the climb and risk heat stroke! Coba is one of the only ruins left in Mexico you can still climb. A word of caution, bring bug spray! It’s a mosquitos paradise here. Be prepared to hike 2.5 Kilometers (about 4 miles one way) to reach the ruin from the entrance. The nice thing is there are bicycles for rent as well as cyclist with their little carry-on lift you can take for 150 pesos round trip.
We opted to take a ride on our way back, it was a bumpy fun ride!
